Sylvia Orozco was first elected to the Board of Education in November 2006. She has served on the City of Chino General Plan Steering Committee to the completion of project; was appointed to the Climate Action Plan Advisory Committee; and served as a Baldy View Regional Occupational Program (ROP) Commissioner. She currently serves on the San Bernardino County Civil Service Commission (since December 2008); YMCA Board of Directors (since 2007); Citizens for Kids Educational Foundation (current treasurer); California School Boards Association (CSBA), Delegate Assembly (since 2012); San Bernardino County School Boards Association (since 2012); and San Bernardino County District Advocates for Better Schools (SANDABS) (since 2013). Additionally, she has worked with organizations that serve students including the Measure M Citizens Oversight Committee and the Chino Valley Unified School District Strategic Planning Committee.
Mrs. Orozco earned a degree in business administration from California State University, Fullerton and is the owner/operator of a small business - Financial Services by Sylvia Orozco. She is married and has three boys.
