Blended Learning Information

  • On February 23, 2021, the Board of Education at a Special Board meeting voted to approve the in-person school reopening plan for grades TK-2 effective March 4, 2021, and grades 3-6 effective March 8, 2021.

    Families in all standard track elementary schools who opted for the Distance Learning model for the 2020-2021 school year will remain in the Distance Learning model for the remainder of the school year. There will be no changes to schedules for students on the Distance Learning model.

    Families in all standard track elementary schools who opted for the Blended Learning model for the 2020-2021 school year will transition to an in-person Blended Learning model following the schedule below. The Blended Learning model will assign students into two cohorts—Cohort A and Cohort B—and each cohort will attend school on campus on alternating days. Both Cohort A and Cohort B will participate in Distance Learning on Wednesdays.      The in-person Blended Learning model school schedule for all standard track elementary schools Grades TK-2 for the week of March 1, 2021 is as follows:

    •  Monday, March 1: Distance Learning Minimum Day 
    •  Tuesday, March 2: Distance Learning Minimum Day 
    •  Wednesday, March 3: Distance Learning Minimum Day 
    •  Thursday, March 4: 
      • Cohort A: In-person Minimum Day Following School Site Schedule
      • Cohort B: Independent Work Assigned by the Teacher 
    • Friday, March 5: 
      • Cohort B: In-person Minimum Day Following School Site Schedule
      • Cohort A: Independent Work Assigned by the Teacher 

     The in-person Blended Learning model school schedule for all standard track elementary schools Grades 3-6 for the week of March 1, 2021 is as follows:

    •  Monday, March 1: Distance Learning Minimum Day 
    •  Tuesday, March 2: Distance Learning Minimum Day 
    •  Wednesday, March 3: Distance Learning Minimum Day 
    •  Thursday, March 4: Distance Learning Minimum Day 
    •  Friday, March 5: Distance Learning Minimum Day

    Beginning the week of Monday, March 8, 2021, all Blended Learning students in Grades TK-6 will participate in an in-person Blended Learning model schedule. Please visit the tabs on the left-hand side to learn more about the Blended Learning model.

    The District and schools are prepared with appropriate COVID safety measures and Personal Protective Equipment as recommended by the California Department of Health Services and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The District prepared a COVID-19 Safety Plan Guidelines for Reopening Our Schools that has been posted on our District website COVID-19 webpage and can be directly accessed here: https://www.chino.k12.ca.us/Page/47191  

    Once your child begins coming to school, we ask that all parents and guardians assist in keeping our school communities safe by screening your children for illness every day prior to coming to school and ensuring that your children have face coverings as prescribed by the California Department of Health.
