2020-2021 Blended Learning Instructional Plan

  • This year is a new challenge for all of us. We will continue to support our students in their academic classes with a focus on functionality of all the content areas. We will be doing this through a virtual platform based in google classroom. We may also be sending physical manipulative activities home to support online instruction.

    Morning Check In (10-15min):  There will be activity questions and interactive touchpoints done in our google classroom. We will also be doing a social skills lesson on Flocabuary.com.

         Strategies: Google form to complete, interactive website “Flocabulary”

    Content areas (30-35min):

         English Language Arts:   

         Strategies: Interactive Technology Resources such as Boom Cards, Electronic Flash Cards, PowerPoints, Etc. and interactive website “Free Reading Program”

    • Live session with Teacher (15min) – Whole group -Learning Targets through literature
    • Live session with Teacher & Assistant (10 min)- Small Group/individual goal work – We will continue to use the “Free Reading Program”
    • Independent activity (10)- Assigned through google classroom

           Math:

           Strategies: Interactive Technology Resources such as Boom Cards, Electronic Flash Cards, PowerPoints, Etc.

    • Live session with Teacher (15min) – Whole group -Learning Targets through digital manipulatives
    • Live session with Teacher & Assistant (10 min)- Small Group/individual goal work
    • Independent activity (10)- Assigned through google classroom

           Social Studies:

           Strategies: We will be using a combination of Studies Weekly Programming and other interactive Technology Resources such as Boom Cards, Electronic Flash Cards, Virtual Fieldtrips

    • Live session with Teacher (15min) – Whole group -Learning Studies Weekly
    • Live session with Teacher & Assistant (10 min)- Small Group/individual goal work - ICIVICS
    • Independent activity (10)- Assigned through google classroom.

        

           Science:

           Strategies: We will be using a combination of “Mystery Science” and other Interactive Technology Resources such as Boom Cards, Electronic Flash Cards, Virtual Fieldtrips, and experiments

    • Live session with Teacher (15min) – Whole group -Learning Mystery Science
    • Live session with Teacher & Assistant (10 min)- Small Group/individual goal work - Experiments
    • Independent activity (10)- Assigned through google classroom, Virtual Fieldtrips

     

           Visual and Performing Arts: Each week we will focus on one of the four areas of V.A.P.A.:  Arts/Crafts, Dance, Drama, Music.

           Strategies: We will be doing crafts, making instruments, puppets and getting moving with dances 

    • Live session with Teacher & Assistant (15 min)- Whole group activity

     

          Life Skills: We are collaborating with another class on Life Skills this year. You will have period 3 with Mrs. Valdez on Monday and Thursday.

    • Live session with Teacher instruction and then independent assignments

           She will hand out a selection of activities to earn points. I will provide  alternate and additional supports to earn the points to total 60 points a week. These activities are

           to be done on your own.

     

         Physical Education: We will have Mr. Fiandaca to provide PE on Wednesday and Friday. We will also be providing “Go Noodle” assignments to complete.

    • Live session with Teacher instruction and then independent assignments

     

    Afternoon Check Out (10-15min)

            Strategies: Google form to complete for afternoon check-out
