  • Virtual Meetings

     

    We will conduct all class meetings on Google Meet.  Students can begin to login to virtual meetings 5 minutes before class starts.  Students can find Google Meet login information on the top left side of their Google Classroom banner.  This code may change, so be sure to use the most current code posted. 

    Students should enter the virtual meeting as they would enter a physical classroom, dressed appropriately, and ready to learn.  Students should enter with their video on, but muted microphones.

    If a student is absent from a meeting, it is just like missing a class.  It is the student's responsibility to find out what they missed.  1) Students should contact the members of their study-buddy group (study-buddy groups will be assigned).  2) All assignments will be posted on the Weekly Assignment Chart and the Google Classroom stream.  3) Students may request a copy of the recorded missed meeting. 4) Students may request a tutorial session during teacher's office hours.

     Assignments

    Assignments will be posted weekly on Google Classroom.  Students should use the Weekly Assignment Chart to keep track of assignments, directions and due dates.  

     Assessments

    Weekly formative assessments (quizzes) will guage formative learning and provide feedback.  Quizzes may not always be announced, and may be very informal.  Students will always be provided an opportunity to retake a failed quiz and improve their score up to 65%.  Summative assessments (tests) will cover material that has been presented, practiced and reviewed.  All tests are announced in advance and will include a review day.  Failed tests cannot be retaken.

     Feedback

    Depending on the assignment, some feedback will be automatic (given as soon as the student enters the answer like in EdPuzzle, Quizlet or Kahoot), or given after the due date (Google Forms and Pear Deck) or given after teacher review (privately, in the comment section of the assignment for Google Classroom assignments or FlipGrid video assignments).  Comments given in Aeries Gradebook will explain the circumstances of the grade given (ie: incomplete, late, retake, etc.) and will require review of the assignment.

    For feedback on a specific question or assignment, students may 1) email me directly, 2) send a private message through the Google Classroom assignment comment section or 3) send a message through REMIND.  I will do my best to answer within 24 hours.   

     Grades

    Grades will be posted on Aeries.
