Ayala Boys Golf - Looking forward to defending our Palomares League Boys Golf Championship title in 2024. We have a good crop of returners, and intend to improve with those that are moving up from JV.2024 will be a good test for our Boys! Our 2020 Boys Golf season started fairly well, as the Varsity Team scored better this year in the Ayala Spring Classic and Temescal Canyon tournaments than they had in 2019, THEN COVID-19 happened and crushed the hopes and dreams of not only our senior golfers, but all of high school spring season sports all over the world!!!Although we were prepared for what may have been the best ever performances of Ayala Golf history, we were not allowed to proceed. So sorry that we couldn't prove that our preparation was all for good reason, and reap the benefits of our labors. We are not disappointed, but we understand the bigger picture and our hearts go out to anyone who may have lost a family member or friend to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now, we all must move forward, and stay active and practice again for a future season that we hope we can show that we were and are ready!!In 2019, we began our Journey back to being a competitive force in the Palomares League and 2019 proved to be a stellar year for the Bulldogs, earning our 1st Ever Undefeated League Championship last year (3rd League Championship overall), and a CIF Championship Runner-Up title which sent the Bulldogs to the CIF State Team Qualifier for the 1st time in school history! In addition, our JV Team earned an Undefeated League Title as well - and now have their own Challenge... a JV league Title defense........ Game On!!Individually, we had great competition and success as Sophomore Tyler Hsieh earned the Palomares League MVP Title (1st League Champion since David Liebhart in 2008), going to CIF Individual Regional play with 1st Team teammate Juniors Amaan Patel and Tommy Ramirez. Branden Cho also earned a 1st Team Honor, but was the alternate for CIF play. Sophomore Anthony Reynoso earned a 2nd Team Honor, and 1st year player Senior Ramzee Jaridly earned an Honorable Mention. The Post-season JV League Championship continued to show the Bulldog strength as Daniel Choi was the overall Champion and Zach Quezada took 2nd Place!! We will again have the opportunity to compete on 1-day for the Individual JV league title while the Varsity is in CIF Post-season mode..... Good Luck!!Since I began coaching the Ayala Boys Golf Team in 2002, our Boys Golf Teams have been pretty successful, making it to the CIF Team playoffs all but 3 years. This year, the team proved to be the most successful as a group, earning a CIF Runner-Up honors at the CIF Eastern Divisional Championship, sending the team to the CIF State Team Qualifier. Our Alumni have played for the following colleges/universities: CS Northridge - Joe Lopez (2003), University of LaVerne - Andrew Kramer (2007), Concordia University - Eric Christman (2008), Fordham/CS Dominguez Hills - Andrew Dufresne (2010)Since the COVID-19 pandemic issues, the CIF and our League have pushed our 2021 season start date to March 20, 2021. We will be playing our season simultaneously with the Girls Golfers. We still have our new goals to achieve this coming year, Defend our League Title. We have some very motivated players, and a chance to compete on Los Serranos' North Course for another CIF Team Divisional Championship. We welcome our newest crop of Freshmen Boys Golfers!!!With lots of off-season practice, our 2021 Team members will be prepared for another great season...Good Luck Boys!!
