Irene Hernandez-Blair is a Los Angeles County public employee. She was elected to the Board of Education in November 2012. Mrs. Hernandez-Blair is married, has two children and a grandson. Her son and grandson attend Chino Valley Unified schools. She currently sits on the Citizens Advisory Committee for the CA
Institution for Women at Corona in Chino.
In 2011, Mrs. Hernandez-Blair was selected as 61st Assembly District Woman of the Year for the City of Chino by Assembly member, Norma Torres. She’s a former appointed Commissioner of the San Bernardino County, Commission on the Status of Women – appointed by Supervisor, Gary Ovitt. Mrs. Hernandez-Blair has participated in CVUSD’s Parent Institute for Quality Education and is an active participant in the Campaign for College Opportunity. Mrs. Hernandez-Blair strongly supports youth activities and is a classroom volunteer. Her goal is to ensure that every child is afforded the opportunity of a quality education by working alongside teachers, administrators and classified staff.
