Irene Hernandez is a Los Angeles County public employee. She was elected to the Board of Education in November 2012. Mrs. Hernandez-Blair is married, has two children and a grandson. Her son and grandson attend Chino Valley Unified schools. She currently sits on the Citizens Advisory Committee for the CA Institution for Women at Corona in Chino.In 2011, Mrs. Hernandez-Blair was selected as 61st Assembly District Woman of the Year for the City of Chino by Assembly member, Norma Torres. She’s a former appointed Commissioner of the San Bernardino County, Commission on the Status of Women – appointed by Supervisor, Gary Ovitt. Mrs. Hernandez-Blair has participated in CVUSD’s Parent Institute for Quality Education and is an active participant in the Campaign for College Opportunity. Mrs. Hernandez-Blair strongly supports youth activities and is a classroom volunteer. Her goal is to ensure that every child is afforded the opportunity of a quality education by working alongside teachers, administrators and classified staff.
