PBIS Platinum Status School

It is my great honor to share with the community that Canyon Hills has been named a Platinum Status School by The California PBIS Coalition in honor of the amazing work we have done in the field of Positive Behavior Intervention and Support.

To achieve this level of recognition, Canyon Hills Junior High engaged, and continues to engage multiple stakeholders including teachers, community members, families, and students though a continuous feedback loop to ensure every voice is heard and given opportunities to participate in school wide programs. School teams that include family members, teachers, and student representatives, met monthly to assess behavior-related data and engage in an iterative process of recalibration and alignment.

Platinum level recognition examines school wide best practices, including the teaching and modeling of school-wide expectations, and designing systems to recognize students who engage in the use of positive behavior. Furthermore, Canyon Hills engaged in a rigorous process of documenting interventions as a means of presenting data to demonstrate the positive school climate and culture we have at The World’s Greatest Junior High.
