Mandarin DLI students invite peers to celebrate the Moon Festival!
Mandarin Dual Language Immersion (DLI) teachers, Ms. Zhao and Ms. Zhang, and their students invited fellow kindergarten classes to experience and celebrate the Moon Festival! Known by various names throughout Asia, including the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Mooncake Festival, the Moon Festival is believed to be the time of year when the moon is at its fullest and brightest. Lanterns are a popular item during the festival and symbolize beacons that light people’s paths to prosperity and good fortune. Our adorable Red Hawks enjoyed the rich history of this popular holiday by participating in traditional festival games, eating mooncakes and crafting vibrant pieces of art.
The Mandarin DLI program is one of two language programs under the CVUSD Multi-Lingual Academy Pathways (MAP) that emphasizes academic achievement through the successful immersion of students through cultural awareness and appreciation.
We’re over the moon to watch our young scholars grow through this amazing program!
