DAL Senior Elected to FFA Officer Team
During the 95th Annual State FFA Leadership Conference held in Ontario, CA in March, FFA representatives announced Sydney Marich as the 2023-2024 Treasurer of the California State Future Farmers of America! As an FFA member for the past four years and previous Secretary of the Southern Region, Sydney is extremely excited to transition into her new role.
Elected annually by delegates from each FFA chapter in the state, Sydney joins a six-member team who will spend the next 371 days inspiring and leading peers by shepherding the FFA component of the program. Throughout their year of service, FFA officers will interact with business and industry leaders, thousands of FFA members and teachers, corporate sponsors, government and education officials, local FFA leaders, and the general public to help set policies that will guide the future of FFA in California.
Coming from a district without an FFA program, Sydney was inspired to join FFA after learning about the horsemanship program offered through Don Lugo High School. She was grateful for the pathway offered to students and is looking forward to supporting others who have a similar passion like hers. After completing her year as Treasurer, Sydney will attend Feather River College in Quincy, CA to earn her bachelor’s degree in Equine and Ranch Management.
Congratulations, Sydney. We are so proud of your dedication and success!
