In a complete first for the District, all 34 CVUSD school sites have earned a PLATINUM PBIS recognition! This level of recognition reflects the district’s commitment to fostering a strong and effective PBIS program where sites demonstrate advanced implementation of PBIS at all three tiers. Platinum recognition, which is the highest level of achievement that can be obtained through the PBIS system, requires recipients to show evidence of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 advanced interventions that assist students through more intensive supports. 

PBIS is a systems-based, multi-tiered framework that aims to help improve academics, reduce problem behaviors, increase attendance, reduce bullying, and improve social and emotional competency of students.  The program emphasizes the utilization of a process, or approach, rather than a curriculum, intervention, or practice. CPC initiated its first statewide effort in 2015 to implement a recognition system that acknowledges schools for implementing PBIS with fidelity to the national framework.
