Ten CVUSD Scientists are Heading to the State Science Fair
Congratulations to all our wonderful CVUSD scientists who competed at the San Bernardino, Inyo, and Mono Science and Engineering Fair on Thursday, March 5th! Their impressive achievements that earned them a trip to the county competition are a true reflection of the curiosity, perseverance, and dedication shown by our students; not to mention the incredible support from their parents, teachers, and staff.
After judges had an opportunity to review and evaluate all projects, ten CVUSD students claimed victory. Junior and Senior division participants who earned gold during the county competition will now advance to the California Science and Engineering Fair at the state level. The 75th Annual California Science and Engineering Fair (CSEF) will be held on April 11-12, at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. Student project setup will be completed on Saturday, April 11, with judging taking place on Sunday, April 12.
What’s even more exciting than heading to the state science competition? Heading to the International Sciene and Engineering Fair (ISEF)! Leila Maleki of Chino High School is one of only four students from San Bernadino, Inyo, and Mono counties, moving foward to ISEF. ISEF is considered the world's largest pre-college STEM research competition, and is often called the "Olympics of Science Fairs". This year’s event will be held from May 9-15 in Phoenix, AZ. This prestigious competition will bring together approximately 1,800 finalists from over 80 countries, who have been selected from millions of students participating in affiliated fairs.
