"We don't stop working until we're proud!" - Room 18 Scholars 🦺
-
Dear Room 18 Families,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you and your child to a brand new school year in Room 18! Fourth grade represents the transitional year for our students. I am so excited to be your child’s teacher this year and I look forward to meeting my new 4th grade scholars Monday, August 5th!
This year represents the transitional year for our students. They move from “Learning to Read” to “Reading to Learn.” This critical acceleration spans all curricular areas. Basic skills in reading and math are now the foundation to higher-level thinking, more layered comprehension, and complex problem-solving, all requisites to their success in their educational journey.
Building good work habits and organization skills are crucial in this transition and will pay off in the long run. Having a growth mindset and perseverance in all areas of learning will be our focus. Close parental and teacher communication is also imperative to make this transition smoother. I look forward to meeting with you at Back to School Night. Before then, feel free to contact me via email, notes in Agenda, ParentSquare app, or office phone call. Together, let’s make this year a guaranteed success for our students!!
~ Ms. Su
