Mrs. Fowler’s rural farm provided students with invaluable lessons in honest labor and responsibility, while Miss Fowler’s founding of the Pasadena Auxiliary raised community support for Boys Republic.

Teaching Bakery Receives Delicious Donation
Larry Capalbo significantly sweetened the Teaching Bakery’s offerings on February 12: the owner of Taylor Freezers Equipment donated professional ice cream machinery to Boys Republic’s bakery. Mr. Capalbo’s generous gifts included an industrial ice cream maker, a display freezer, various ingredients, and a recipe book. Bakery students gathered around Mr. Capalbo and a student volunteer as they illustrated how to sanitize, prepare, and use the ice cream maker.
