Dear Wickman Second Grader,

  Hello! I am Mrs. Deeb, your teacher at Wickman Elementary School. We will be starting the year in Room 23, on Monday, August 5, 2024. I am really looking forward to this year. I hope you are too!

Second grade will be full of fun and exciting experiences.  You will make new friends and learn many new and interesting things. By the end of the school year, you will be amazed at how much you have learned! 

It will be important for you to get plenty of rest the night before school begins.  Make sure you get to bed early!  When you wake up in the morning, have a good breakfast. Since you will be having lunch a little later than you did in First Grade, you might want to pack a healthy snack for our morning recess. August days are often very hot, so please bring extra water! If you are bringing supplies, please bring them on the first day so we can get organized.

When you arrive at school, you may hang your backpack on the cart next to our classroom, and go out to the playground until it’s time for school to begin. Once the bell rings, locate and line up by #23 on the playground. I will be there to greet you and show you to our classroom once the bell rings.
