VISION STATEMENT FOR PARENT AND FAMILY ENGAGEMENT

The Family Engagement Center is committed to authentic engagement of families/parents and community partners that reflects the following core values:

    • All parents have dreams for their children and want the best for them
    • All parents have the capacity to support their children's learning
    • Parents and school staff should be equal partners in the education of children
    • The primary responsibility for building partnerships between home and school rests mainly with school leaders and staff

We will strive to embed transformative family engagement practices, programs and policies across the CVUSD educational system so that every parent is treated as a valuable partner in their child’s education.

    PARENT EDUCATION AT SCHOOL SITES
Across the district, there are opportunities for parents to attend informative meetings, workshops, and decision-making committees. Schools provide opportunities for parents and community members to engage in decision-making, volunteering, and participate in workshops that are linked to student learning and/or social-emotional development and growth.

    SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS FOR LEARNING NETWORK

This CVUSD network is comprised of school Action Teams for Partnerships (ATP) representing school communities. We know that the home-school connection is a critical key to student success. ATP's have parents, teachers, community members, and administrators working together on activities that positively impact student success and lifelong learning. ALL CVUSD schools are engaged in the network. We invite you to become involved in your school's Action Team, working alongside teachers and administrators for all students in your school community. If you would like to know more about this network and how it works, click on the PARTNERSHIPS FOR LEARNING NETWORK tab.

    COMMUNITY
CVUSD has many community partners across the many programs and opportunities provided to students and families. The department of Access and Equity will be partnering with Aliance for Education to provide 12 Powers of Family Business giving parents the tools necessary to heal from the social-emotional effects the Pandemic has brought to society. With Families in Schools we will build partnerships for student success through a series of college and career lessons for parents to help guide students through the college path. During our Family Stories Academies, parents will be utilizing our partnership with The Latino Family Literacy Project. These organizations not only provide us with materials, but are critical supporters of our family engagement programs in Chino Valley.

The Family Engagement Center also partners with other departments within the CVUSD family. We work alongside the Health Services department, Special Education department, and our Assessment and Instructional Technology department. We are pleased to support the Health Services' Nurturing Parents Academies in the center this year, as well as provide a five-week Special Education parent academy entitled, Parents as Partners Academy.
