In 2019, Governor Newsom adopted Senate Bill (SB) 328, which requires junior high schools begin class no earlier than 8:00 a.m., and high schools no earlier than 8:30 a.m. Based on survey results collected January 2022, the Board of Education approved Option E during its February 3, 2022, regular meeting. The approved school start times for the 2022/2023 school year are:

Elementary Schools: 7:50 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Junior High Schools: 9:12 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.

High Schools: 8:35 a.m. – 3:22 p.m.
