    Announcement: Spirit Days

Hey Everyone!  To make things more fun during our Distance Learning time, I have created Spirit Days.  If you participate, I'll give you points in one of the classes you have with me.  I'll give you up to 5 points for each day you participate.  The more detailed the description, the better the score. I will change up some of the days each week.

If you are in PE, you must choose a physical way to participate in at least 2 of the days below.  If you are in Spanish, include something in the language or culture relevant to at least 2 of the days.  If you are in Health, at least 2 days should be something to do with wellness of mind, body, or spirit.  If you are in Digital Photo, 2 of the days should include something in that realm.  Maybe on the Talent Day, you could show off one of your photos.  I have included special instructions for each day.  For videos, make sure you are dressed appropriately. Please keep it current, something you have done during this week.

Move-It Monday-  How are you getting ready for the week?  What is your motivation?  Maybe it's organizing a work space for Distance Learning time.  Maybe it's starting your day with exercise or meditation.  Whatever it is, tell me about it or send a picture of you doing it.  Let's get movin'!

Talent Tuesday- What is your talent?  Send a drawing or make a video of you and/or family members performing a dance or song, or playing an instrument.  Maybe your talent is doing something athletic. Maybe you are a photographer.  (Remember photos have to have a release if you take pictures of people, so no pics of people please.)

Wellness Wednesday- What are you doing to take care of yourself?  Maybe it's meditating, doing yoga, journaling, reading, or spending time in your backyard enjoying nature.  Send a pic of yourself or send me a written description of what you are doing for yourself.

Throwdown Thursday- Challenge a family member in an athletic event, or dance challenge.  Play a game or see who can hula hoop longer. Maybe see who can blow the biggest bubble or who could jump rope longer.  Have you ever played Chubby Bunny?  In that game you have to see who can stuff the most marshmallows in their mouth and still say, "Chubby Bunny." Tell me who won?  What was the score? Send a pic and/or tell me in writing what happened.

Fun Friday- Plan a fun activity with those in your home.  Maybe you'll play a game, cook or bake, or watch a movie together. Involve your family!

Please refer to information above while the Distance Learning is occuring.

I am Mrs. Blanchard, and I am pleased to be a teacher at our district's Virtual High School. I teach Spanish, Health, and Physical Education. I have been a teacher for 21 years, teaching at various levels. The virtual teaching experience is one of the best I have had as an educator. It is so rewarding to get to know my students and their learning styles, and to strive to customize my teaching approach to their educational needs.

I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from the University of La Verne. I have four teaching credentials: Physical Education, Spanish, Special Education, and Multiple Subjects (Elementary.) I started my career as a high school athletic trainer. I have taught Kindergarten, Third and Fifth grades, Junior High P.E. and Spanish, and high school Spanish and English. All have been rewarding experiences.

I enjoy working with my students, and offering them support and motivation to help them succeed.

Below you will see the links to the two platforms my classes use, Gradpoint and Edgenuity.

Please feel free to contact me via phone or email, or simply make an appointment to come in to see me. I look forward to a successful and productive year with all of my students!

  • Academic Integrity is a concept used to address the many facets of authenticity within a student's work. A student who upholds a high standard of academic integrity maintains that the work he or she turns in is authentic and true to the knowledge he or she has acquired.

The technology age has certainly helped people have fast access to any and all information on the web. Because of this, you will see Academic Integrity becoming more of a standard in educational institutions as they begin to hold students to higher accountability measures.

    Academic Integrity means...
    • Your work on each assignment will be completely your own
    • Your collaboration with another classmate on any assignment will be pre-approved by your instructor
    • You will not practice plagiarism in any form
    • You will not allow others to copy your work
    • You will not misuse content from the Internet
