Hello and welcome! My name is Charlotte Bondoc. Students call me Mrs. Bondoc. I am a lifelong learner and love learning about people and everything around me.
I am originally from Indonesia, a linguistically diverse Southeast Asian country with over 700 distinct languages and over 17,000 islands. Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world with a diverse population of over 1,000 ethnic groups.
My family and I moved from Indonesia to the United States over 30 years ago. I've lived here for most of my life now, received most of my education here in California, and have been a U.S. citizen for many years. I met my husband here, married here, and we have two children together.
I have been teaching in the Chino Valley Unified School District for over 13 years. First, I taught as a substitute teacher and now, as an adult ESL teacher and, as of 2024, a U.S. Citizenship teacher at the Chino Valley Adult School. I've been teaching here since 2018. Building relationships with my students is why I love teaching English here.
I truly enjoy every moment in the classroom with my students, seeing the growth and improvement of English skills, and watching their confidence grow. It is an honor and a joy to help empower students with more English communication skills and to be a part of a student's journey to become more acclimated to life in the U.S.Below are some past class photos, including my Spring 2020 class that was featured in a local newspaper, The Chino Valley Champion (3rd photo below).
In my free time, I love spending time with my family, exploring new foods and different places, and playing music. I enjoy creating and using my hands. I love to read (young adult fiction, fantasy fiction, and poetry are my favorite genres) and I also love to write (free-writing in journals, letter-writing, writing with fountain pens, exploring typography, handwriting, cursive writing, and calligraphy). Using my technological skills to improve online spaces is one of my new favorite skills that I am exploring. I also love roller-skating, but I haven't roller-skated in a while now. I love nature and I am learning to take good care of plants, especially my classroom succulents and monsteras! I absolutely love seeing new classroom plant babies!

Every day I get to make a difference by teaching in California public classrooms - and I am thankful for this opportunity. I look forward to learning more about my students every day. If you are a new student to my class, I can't wait to meet you, and look forward to learning more about you! If you see me around campus, be sure to wave and say, "Hello!"
And when you do move up to Level 5, as a former student of mine, you are always welcome to enjoy a cup of coffee during break time.
Thank you and see you around!
🌺Mrs. Bondoc
