US History
  • Welcome to AP US History!

My name is Eric Rodgers! I have been teaching Social Science in the Chino Valley Unified School District for 27 years, and am so excited to be part of the team here at the Biomedical Science and Technology Academy as your AP US History teacher! This is going to be a fun, exciting, and adventurous school year as we explore the history of the United States to better understand the impact of the US on both citizens of the US, indigenous peoples, and the world as a whole, for both better and for worse!  We will be doing high level thinking to ask important questions about topics such as the impacts of The American Revolution, the Civil War, the Gilded Age,  Industrialization, and 19th and 20th Century Global conflicts on both the US and the world.

This course will follow the College Board and Description(CED) as we "investigate significant events, individuals, developments and processes from approximately 1492 to the Present.  Students develop and use the same skills, practices, and methods employed by historians, analyzing primary and secondary sources; developing historical arguments, making historical connections, and utilizing reasoning about comparison, causation, and continuity and change over time."

Your student will be challenged to understand the concepts and skills that go along with European History and will ultimately be invited to take the AP Exam on May 9, 2025,  with a chance to both prove what they have learned AND earn college credit! (Information regarding test sign-ups etc., will come at a later date.) For my part, I promise I will do everything I can to ensure my student's success. The combination of determination from both myself and you the students can only lead to a fun and successful year!
