• It's time for the annual Rhodes Talent Show!Talent Show graphic

Do you have talent? Have you learned a new talent over COVID? Do you want to show off your talent to the rest of the school? Here is your chance!

Usually we would have auditions and practice days that come before our students’ spotlight debuts. However, given our circumstances we have opted to make this year a Virtual Talent Show. Students will still get the chance to show us all of the amazing things they can do and see what their friends can do too! Please see the following instructions and guidelines for participating in this year’s show.

    1. Students may perform any talent that is school appropriate - song, dance, spoken word, instruments, martial arts, sports skills... there are too many talents to name! No profane lyrics or violence will be allowed in a students’ performance. Student who wish to submit visual art may send in a video of them explaining their creation.
    2. In order to participate, parents must email Professor Calaway (joleen_calaway@chino.k12.ca.us) with the following information by Friday, February 26:
      • Child's name(s)
      • Professor's name
      • Type of act
      • Lyrics of any song or poem
      • Permission for child's video to be posted publicly on the Rhodes YouTube channel.
    3. To allow as many participants as possible, ALL video submissions must be kept under 1 minute in duration.
    4. Final videos must be submitted in .mp4 or .mov format by Thursday, March 11
    5. Be on the lookout on our website and social media for the compilation video of all of our student’s wonderful talents, to be posted after Spring Break!

Although we are not allowed to gather in the Student Union and perform on stage, this is an opportunity to talk to and practice stage presence with your child. Be sure to encourage your child to practice their talent to feel very comfortable about their final performance for video. We want to see where our students’ passions lie and how they can put their best foot forward!

All deadlines and requirements are firm - because of the number of expected participants we are unable to create exceptions or extensions!

If you have any questions, please contact Professor Calaway (joleen_calaway@chino.k12.ca.us
