Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. It includes competencies in self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship and leadership skills, and responsible decision making.
At Rhodes, we are committed to developing lifelong, respectful learners in a safe, caring, and collaborative educational environment. We embed social emotional competencies in instruction, and help students develop their skills in communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity and compassion.
