First Grade Distant Learning Expectations
Please discuss these expectations and encourage your child to help prepare their learning area and materials. This will help your child when they return to their physical learning environment.
*important information and helpful suggestions
1. Be on time
*Students will be marked absent if they are not visible in our Virtual Classroom or if they are late
(5 day exception adjustment period will be given starting Aug. 10). Parents will need to clear
the absence with the office.
2. Be prepared
*Create a space for your child where their materials are available and ready to go.
*Set expectations for material care and clean up
*Books should go in their designated area so they are not lost (backpack, shelf, tote etc)
*Please remove all distractions such as toys, snacks, TV, animals..etc
3. Be dressed appropriately for school
*Students should have a morning routine that will prepare them to transition when we return to their
physical classroom
4. No food during class
*Please make sure your child has had breakfast before starting the class
*Students eating will be asked to leave the class until they are finished, which will cause them to get behind.
5. Mute after our morning hello
*Students must stay muted until they are called on
*Students that are consistently unmuting will be asked to leave the class until the next scheduled activity.
6. Camera must be turned on at all times

7. Ask permission to leave
*Students must raise their hand if they want to leave the virtual classroom for any reason.
