Dear Parents, Guardians, and Families,

     I am excited about beginning the new school year at Liberty Elementary, where students, their families, and our staff have been a big part of my life for the past eight years.  This will be my 19th year teaching elementary school.  I have taught several grade levels in that time but have long wanted to transition to primary grades.  I think that reading and math at the early grades is fundamental to later student success.  It is of great importance to me to be able to help students develop reading and math skills that will serve them throughout their elementary and secondary years.  This is a second career for me, and over these years I have personally found this profession to be very rewarding, as elementary learners bring a diverse set of personalities, strengths, and needs to the classroom.  Young students bring curiosity, cleverness, humor, and kindness.  I look forward to getting to know them so that I can best serve their educational needs.  I welcome parent input, which supports our shared endeavor to provide your child with the best 2nd grade experience possible for them.  My door is always open to you if you have any questions or concerns.   If you are curious, I hold a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a Masters in Elementary Reading and Math, A Supplemental Math Credential, and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration.  When I'm not working, you'll find me gardening, listening to music, reading, cooking for family and friends, traveling, or pouring myself into another jigsaw puzzle.  My best wishes to all of you, my students in particular, for a fabulous 2^nd grade year!
