    Hello Parents!

First of all, let me start off with saying how much I miss my kids!  I would much rather be in the classroom with them than doing distance learning. This is a whole new process for all of us.  We all are going through struggles trying to adapt with our situation.  I want to thank all of you for spending time with your children and guiding them through the last two weeks of District learning plans.    With that said, most of the assignments and activities that will be assigned will be reinforcement of skills already learned.  Normally, we would be doing State Testing right now, so most if not all standards have been addressed. The rest of the year will be reinforcing those standards.

Students will be using Apps and e-textbooks for both Language Arts and Math.  They can both be found on ClassLink.  Pearson Easy Bridge is the Math, and McGraw Hill Connect Ed is the Language Arts.  To find assignments in Language Arts, click on McGraw Hill, click on the book, then click on the green circle.  That is the “to do” list.  Assignments for the day should show up there.  Any activities that are assigned should be completed with 80% accuracy.  Students should redo activities until they reach 80%.  In addition to the assignments, students should be reading 30 minutes a day and taking AR tests.  While we are on distance learning, AR tests may be taken from home.  (Assignments will not be posted until the day assigned)

Math assignments are found on the Pearson Easy Bridge app.  Click on that, then click on enVisionMATH California Common Core. To use the textbook, click on classes (orange circle).  On the right side of the page, click on the picture of the otter. Click “open in new window.” Go to the menu on the upper right side of the page.  Click on “table of contents” and scroll down to topic 14. Students will need to click “next” until they get to the right page.  They can see the screen as an open book if they click on “2 page view”.  Assignments for quick checks are posted under the assignments tab also.  Take the quick check after doing book work and the concept is understood.   The quick checks are a quiz to see how they are doing. (Assignments will not be posted until the day assigned.)

Students are to do 20-30 minutes of P.E. daily.  Click on the P.E. tab on the classroom page to get suggested ideas for P.E.

Reading intervention students need to complete the intervention activities under the tab “Cutler/Noh Lexia Students” in addition to work assigned by me.

Speech and Language students need to do activities under the “Speech and Language” tab.

DELD students need to do activities under “DELD Students” tab.

Mrs. Yii has posted music activities under her tab on my page.

The “Digital Resources” and “Online Learning Enrichment Page” tabs have links to give kids extra activities to do.

I would like to set up a virtual meeting with the kids, but I am still working on how to do that.  I will let you know more about that in the future.

If students have forgotten their personal username and/or password, email me and I will send it to you.

Thank you again for your support.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Falkowsky
