Second Grade Syllabus
It is important that we have a teacher-family partnership to ensure your child’s learning throughout the school year. The 2nd grade team has planned and designed lessons to be completed both at school and home. We are confident your child is capable of completing the assignments independently. However, your support may be needed to ensure his or her understanding of the daily lesson. Assessments need to be completed independently using the honor system. Please encourage your child to take ownership of their learning, as this is a wonderful opportunity for growth.
Instructional Platform
Google Classroom will be used for daily instruction. This is where daily assignments, projects, and teacher announcements. Other platforms that will be used can be found on ClassLink or will be linked in assignments in Google Classroom.
How/when will students submit work?
Student work will be assigned daily, however, not all assignments will be to be collected by the teacher. Some assignments will be collected/submitted through Google Classroom, ConnectED, and SAVAAS. Families may opt in for email updates through Google Classroom.
When are assessments?
Assessments will be given weekly for ELA and at the end of each topic for math. Assessments will be available on ConnectED, SAVAAS, or Google Classroom.
How will grades/feedback be communicated with students and families?
Immediate feedback will be given on assignments on ConnectED and Pearson, if applicable. Work completed on Google Classroom will be reviewed by the teacher before feedback is given. Feedback will be given within the week following completion of assignments. See below for the rubrics for grading.
