Mrs. Larzo

Hey Y'all!

My name is Mrs. Melinda Larzo.  My vocation has taken me on quite a journey, starting back in 1993.  I am led not by my own understanding, but by how I am guided.  At the beginning of my career, I bounced a bit, teaching where I felt I was needed most.  I started in a youth program, teaching junior high girls, and then in 5th grade in Anaheim City SD. I touched down momentarily, at Butterfield Ranch for some years, teaching 6th, 4th, and 2nd. I was led to teach 8th-grade science for Walnut Valley USD, then back to my home in Chino Valley, teaching at Eagle Canyon and Oak Ridge>  I headed back at the Ranch, teaching, 4th, 5th, and 6th grades. I flew as an eagle flies 1.5 miles to Wickman, teaching 6th and 4th grades.  (P.S. I did my student teaching in 3rd and 7th grades, so if you're doing a tally, I have taught everything from 2nd -  8th at least once.)  I feel it is not what I teach, but whom.  I love teaching and helping students not only in their academic achievement but emotionally and socially as well.  I teach the whole child, not just his or her brain. So much of who adults become is rooted in their childhood.  My goal as an educator is to help create a better society, by strengthening its citizens with well-rounded, emotionally stable, academically minded, high-functioning, and kind adults. *May the odds be ever in our favor. *

Personally, I am a God-centered person, who is a wife to my handsome and witty hubby of almost 30 years, (although we met in high school 10 years earlier.)  I am a mama to our two beautiful and grown children: a son who is 27 and a daughter 24. Both kiddos grew up in the C.V.U.S.D. I also have a perfect grand-baby who will be 2 year old in September. I love to spend most of my time with my family and many friends, socializing and building relationships.  I am active and love to ski, both in water and snow.  I love animals of all kinds, We just lost our beautiful tri-colored Australian shepherd named BellaGrace.  Our hearts are completely broken without her.  We spent a great deal of time together roaming the hills of our great city. My students and their families become a big part of my life. Once you're mine, you are mine forever.  I still have relationships with students and their families whom I taught over 30 years ago. So, there you have it.  A little more than a bit about me, Mrs. Larzo.
