Mrs. Rasmussen (Ms. Geri)

Hello Students and Families,

Welcome! My name is Mrs. Rasmussen (Ms. Geri) and I want to welcome you to my classroom. I would like to share a little about myself, so you can get to know me. I am married to my husband Allen, and we have three children, ages 34, 28, and 23. We have a very active one year old lab named Willow who is responsible for my wrist injury :(

I love spending time with my family, (including a large extended family-I have 7 siblings and many nieces and nephews!) I especially enjoy time at the beach-either riding bikes, kayaking, paddle boarding or just sitting on the sand with a good book! I taught private preschool for over 18 years and then started working for Chino Valley Unified in 2007. I began as an instructional aide for students with severe autism, and returned to school to obtain my credential in Early Childhood Special Education. Speaking of instructional aides-I have three of the most amazing aides I could ever ask for-Ms. Virginia, Ms. Ronnie & Ms. Monique! (See: "Meet My Aides").

I am a firm believer in Early Intervention for my students. I have seen firsthand the positive benefits of providing the necessary resources for our children, beginning as early as age 2. My goal is to always provide a safe place for my students and their families to be able to progress, learn and enjoy our time together. This can be done through 1:1 interaction, small group lessons, whole group lessons, play, art, and constant communication. I highly encourage my students to make their requests, whether that is through speaking, using visual aids, signing, etc...I am also a big proponent of keeping communication flowing between myself and parents. I will advocate for whatever your child needs in order to promote learning, independence and success. I absolutely love my job and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you!
