    Dear Students and Families,

I will begin meeting with 8th grade students after spring break if they have fines that may keep them from being eligible for year-end activities (Knotts, Promotion).  I sent home notices at the end of the trimester, Friday, February 16th.  These letters may have included items from your previous school.  Please contact your elementary school directly to ask questions about missing items or fines from their site.  They will have an abbreviation for their site next to the item. For example, Rolling Ridge will have [RR] and Hidden Trails will have [HT].  You are welcome to return their items here, and I get them where they need to go.

For Canyon Hills fines, please make sure you are sending in exact cash payments (lost library books and overdue fines) or checks payable to CVUSD (textbook or device fines only).  You can also contact me for information about replacement options (in lieu of fines).  Contact me with questions anytime!         jeanne_sexton@chino.k12.ca.us

Mark your calendars for the end of the year textbook and device return:

    Textbook and Device Return

8th grade textbook return, Thursday 5/16

7th grade textbook return, Friday 5/17

8th grade Chromebook and charger cord return, Monday 5/20

*7th grade students leaving the district at the end of the school year may return their device Monday 5/20 through Thursday 5/23. All other 7th grade students keep their Chromebooks over the summer.

Students are welcome in the library every school day at 8:30am.  At lunch, students are welcome in after they have been released from the lunch tables.  After school, the library is open for about 15 minutes to take care of any library business. Take a look at our posted library hours for all the particulars. (And of course, you can always come by during class with a pass from your teacher.)

While in the library, you can look for a book to check-out, read, study, do homework, quietly work on group projects, charge your Chromebook, work on a puzzle or maybe even play a game of chess.  Quiet activities are welcome as long as everyone is respectful and responsible.

Have a question? Don't hesitate to contact me by email.

    All the best,
