Students are expected to be at school and on time on a daily basis. Every day is an opportunity for your child to learn.
Students may not be signed out early during recess or lunch times or during the last 30 minutes of the school day.
Excused absences include illness, doctor appointments, and family funeral services. Board policy requires that verification by email, note, or phone call must be completed WITHIN 5 SCHOOL DAYS of the student’s return to school. On the sixth day, the absence becomes unverified and cannot be changed after this date.
If you would like to request make-up work, contact your child’s teacher and they will notify you when to pick up the work. Generally, it will not be available until the end of the school day.
If your child must miss school for more than five consecutive days, please contact your teacher as early as a month in advance and no later than a week prior to your planned absence to see if placing your child on Independent Study is available. Please note, students who participate in the Independent Study program will NOT be eligible for the Batting 1000 award.
To qualify for the Batting 1000 award, a student must have no unexcused absences and have no tardies, early outs, or late pick ups each trimester. Please make every effort to schedule appointments after school dismissal, especially on minimum days.
IMPORTANT: Please ensure your child’s Emergency Contact information in the Aeries Portal is updated and accurate at all times.
