    Homework Assignments

     
    A homework folder will be sent home daily and must be returned daily. At the beginning of each week, students will receive a Homework Assignment Sheet detailing the homework assignments that are due each day. All homework is to be completed with a pencil for writing and crayons or color pencils for drawing and coloring. Some assignments may be assigned online in McGraw-Hill ConnectEd, Savvas, IXL, or Flipgrid. All platforms can be accessed via ClassLink. Parents are expected to look over the homework and the assignment sheet daily with their child. Homework will also include reading aloud for 20 minutes every day. 

    Assessments

    Assessments will be assigned at the end of each week for English-Language Arts, Unit for Science, Topic for Math, and Chapter for Social Studies. District assessments will be assigned at each trimester.

    Feedback

    Assignments completed in Savvas and ConnectEd may have instantaneous feedback. All other work submitted will have feedback provided by the teacher.

    Grades

    Our Scoring Rubric is as follows:

    4- Excelling: Students at the Excelling level of performance consistently perform at grade level, can demonstrate independence, and can extend the grade level standards when applicable, expected at this point of the school year.

    3- Achieving: Students at the Achieving level of performance demonstrate an adequate understanding of and ability to apply skills needed to meet grade level standards at this point of the school year.

    2- Progressing: Students at the Progressing level of performance are partially meeting the grade level standards epected at this point of the school year.

    1- Beginning/Standard Not Met: Students at the Beginning/Standard Not Met level are not yet meeting grade level standards expected at this point of the school year.
