EXPECTATIONS:
BE RESPECTFUL, BE RESPONSIBLE, BE SAFE
BE RESPECTFUL: Respect yourself and others. Listen and follow directions. Do not interrupt. Have good sportsmanship and be kind to others.
BE RESPONSIBLE: Come prepared with appropriate clothing and footwear. Participate and try your best. Take turns and encourage others.
BE SAFE: Do not touch equipment without permission. Stay in designated area. Listen for instructions. Keep your hands and feet to yourself.
What Is PE? What Do We Do?
Physical Education is a way for kids to be physically active through sports, games and activities. Our PE program focuses on Physical Education Standards. This includes social skills, problem-solving, nutrition, and skill themes (throwing, catching, jumping, balancing, striking, etc.) We strive to encourage our students to be fit, active and promote life-long healthy habits.
Dress Code:
-Tennis Shoes (no sandals, crocs or boots)
-Loose, Comfortable Clothes
-Water Bottle (no juice or Gatorade, please)
PE Curriculum: Spark Curriculum- An award-winning program that ensures standards, objectives and goals are being met.
5th Grade Physical Fitness Test Information: This is a state-mandated test that measures student's health in 5 different areas: Aerobic Capacity (Pacer Test), Upper Body Strength (Push-Ups), Abdominal Strength (Curl-Ups), Shoulder Flexibility (Shoulder Stretch), and Lower Back Strength and Flexibility (Trunk Lift). This test will be given between March and April.
