• Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) Program

Students who participate in Country Springs' GATE program are provided enrichment and extension activities in their classroom. Gate students are served in “GATE cluster” classrooms. GATE students are assigned to a GATE teacher who provides differentiated instruction. Opportunities to participate in enrichment activities are available for GATE students throughout the year.

CVUSD and Country Springs utilize NNAT-3 to identify students for the GATE program. All 2nd grade students are automatically screened for GATE in the fall. Students in grades 3-6 are screened for GATE based on parent, student, or teacher recommendation to the GATE coordinator and will participate in the screening in the winter. Students are able to be screened again if at least 12 months have passed since the last attempt.
