• Woodcrest Junior High Textbook Policy

Please note:  Students will check out 4 textbooks the first week of school.  With the exception of the math textbook, these textbooks will be kept at home during the school year. Math textbooks are the only textbooks that will be used in the classroom and at home.  It is imperative that all math textbooks be covered with a bookcover so that they are not damaged.  Math workbooks will be given in math class and are consumables.

Textbooks should not be shared with other students, written in or damaged.  At the end of the school year students will be notified when to return them. At that time you and your student will check each textbook, clean the exterior with a soft damp cloth and make sure that the textbook has not been written in.

    Agenda

Your agenda is to be brought to school everyday.  Any homework assignments should be written in your agenda daily. Parents should check the student’s agenda to see any homework that has been assigned to the student for the day or the week.  The replacement cost for an agenda is $5.00.

    Textbooks

Students will be issued textbooks with a value over $300.00.  It is the student’s    responsibility to care for the books in a mature manner.  Students and their parents are liable for any loss or damage to school materials or equipment up to $10,000.00 (CA Education Code 48904).

Textbooks are the property of Woodcrest Junior High and Chino Valley Unified School District.

Each student shall be issued one copy of all pertinent textbooks.

Students shall not loan their textbooks to any other student nor are they to leave their textbooks in the classroom.

Each teacher has a class set of textbooks in the classroom (except for math textbooks) for student use so that students can leave their textbooks at home during the school year. All textbooks issued to students shall be returned to the Woodcrest Junior High Library prior to ending their attendance at WHJS or at the end of the school year.

Students will not be charged for pre-existing damages, but they must report any existing textbook damage AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
