• Distance Teaching and Learning Classroom Expectations

     

    General Expectations

    · Students should not share their login information, meeting links, or passwords with others.

    · To the extent possible, students should participate in virtual instruction from a quiet and neutral area that is free of distractions.

    · School and classroom rules apply to the virtual instruction environment.

    · It is recommended that students review the District Technology Acceptable/ Responsible Use Policy regarding expectations for behavior while conducting themselves online and on District devices. [Click here to Review the CVUSD Responsible Use Policy.]

    · Students should dress appropriately for virtual instruction sessions.

    · Students who use inappropriate language, share inappropriate images, or in any way behave inappropriately on a video conference will be subject to appropriate discipline.

    · Students should not conduct audio or video recordings or take screen shots of virtual class meetings or activities unless they have received prior permission to do so from a teacher or authorized District official.

    · To the extent possible, parents should allow the student to work with the instructor or provider in a quiet, private space. However, to the extent a student requires adult support to participate in virtual instruction/services, a parent or guardian may be specifically asked by the instructor or service provider to provide such support.

    · Once the virtual instruction session or meeting is over, students should be sure to close out of the meeting platform entirely. Students should also ensure that cameras are covered and that microphones are turned off to avoid inadvertent transmission following the meeting.

     

    Virtual Meetings

    Students should begin to login to their class' Google Meets 2-3 minutes before the start of their class.

    Students will be required to mute when joining their class Google Meets.  

    Meeting times of classess will be according to the school schedule and each students' individual class schedule

    tudent should contact the teacher by email or phone call if they are absent for make-up work and check their Google Classroom Classwork.

     

    Communications / Academics

    Teacher commitments:

    • Online live teacher interaction during synchronous learning class times
    • I will be available to help students and parents during my virtual office hours.  Google Meets Office hours:  Monday 1:45-2:30 PM, Tuesday 7:45-8:30 AM,  Thursday 1:45-2:30 PM
    • Grades will be updated in Aeries Portal weekly, Progress Reports will be emailed to parents weekly
    • Feedback will be given to students in Google Classroom, Aeries Portal, or by email  

     

    Student expectations

    • Students are expected to be logged on to Google Meets on time and with their microphones muted.
    • Students are expected to participate and complete all assignments by due date.
    • If students are absent, they need to contact the teacher by email or phone call.

    Assignments

    Assignments will be posted in Google Classroom Classwork

    We will be using Google Classroom and Google Meets

    Some of the apps students will need to access is Big Ideas Math.

     

    Assessments

    Formative assessments will be assigned as needed to assess student learning.

    Summative assessments will be assigned at the end of each chapter.

     

    Feedback

    Students will get feedback through Google Classroom, email, and in Aeries.  Teacher feedback will be given within a week of the assignment completion. 

     Assignments completed in Big Ideas Math may have instantaneous feedback. All other work submitted will have feedback provided by the teacher either in Google Classroom, emails, or Aeries..

     

    Grades

    Parents and students will be notified of their student's current progress through Aeries Portal and by Aeries generated progress reports that will be emailed to parent email once a week.
