CTE Pathways
-
Career Technical Education (CTE) is designed to provide students with skills required for employment in specific careers. The state of California has identified 15 industry sectors, 13 of which are represented in CVUSD. Career Pathways are series of courses that when taken in order, can expose students to increasingly advanced technical skills. When taken in sequence, students are considered "pathway completers" (see chart below).
- Pathways are designed to be taken in the order listed: Introductory (where available), Concentrator, then Capstone. Courses must be taken in this sequence for students and schools to receive CTE completer credit – which figures into CCRI.
- Students are encouraged to seek certification in the pathway when available.
BALDY VIEW REGIONAL OCCUPATION PROGRAM (ROP)
Through a solid partnership, Baldy View Regional Occupation Program (ROP) and Chino Valley Unified School District are excited to provide FREE CTE courses to high school students. Students have the opportunity to enroll in campus either on their school campus or at the BVROP Career Center located on Bon View Ave. in Ontario. This hands-on experience allows students to earn high school credit while exploring various industries they may seek to pursue after graduation. A list of courses imbedded on campus are provided below. To learn more about courses imbedded on campus or provided at the BVROP Career Center, please visit www.baldyviewrop.org or review the 2022 Fall Schedule below.
