    June 3rd-7th, 2024

    Things our classroom needs: Tissues

    Important Information:

Homework: Homework is assigned every night, Monday through Thursday. Math and reading homework is due the next day. If students do not complete a homework page or forget to bring it back on the due date, they will receive a red homework ticket. Both the student and the parent will need to sign the ticket and return it with the completed homework assignment.

Making Better Choices Slip: These are referred to as orange slips, since they are on orange paper. A student will receive 2-3 warnings prior to receiving an orange slip. An explanation (if needed) will be written on the back, and this also needs to be signed and returned if your child receives one.

PE: We do PE every day, so please make sure your child is dressed appropriately to run, kick a ball, jump, skip, hop, throw, etc. during PE time...and that they are following the dress code in the parents' handbook. We will be running every Thursday (weather permitting) and this will be used as the bulk of their participation grade. Their ability to do each skill that is being taught will make up their competency grade.

Aviator Folders: Our weekly folders will be sent home on Thursdays. This will include work/assessments from the previous week. Anything that needs to be signed and returned, needs to be placed on the right side and returned on Friday. Please look through their work (keep anything not stapled into a folder), sign any stapled papers, and sign their behavior log. All folders need to be returned on FRIDAY.

What we will be learning this week:

ELA: We will begin reviewing all the skills and strategies we have learned this year and apply them towards our current read aloud, The One and Only Ivan. We will continue with Unit 6 (Adjectives). In writing, we will continue our narrative writing unit.

Math: We will return to our Step up to 4th Grade lessons. Every night, your child should practice their math facts (multiply, and/or division) for 10min.

Social Studies: We will begin Chapter 12. (Test on 6/14)

    Science: No science this week.
