Working closely with the Ingredient Acquisition desk, Quality Control deals with all issues post-assembly including but not limited to ratio, portion control, and spice. The Nacho Department is noted for its robust Volunteer Program.
Because nachos have many flavorful ingredients, particular attention is paid to to flavor balance:
- 6 parts tortilla chips
- 1 part refried beans
- 2 parts grated cheeses
- 1 part guacamole
- *Extreme Caution* Salsa of all types should be distributed with caution by nacho host
CVUSD's Nacho Department hosts a robust Volunteer Squad made up of twenty students from each grade level, and 600 elementary and secondary teachers. Tasters must commit to four plates of nachos per month, reporting on quality of ingredients, ingredient ratios, and presentation in a Microsoft Team online conversation.
