Dear CVUSD Family:
Yesterday, I was saddened to hear that racist posts are circulating on social media involving some of our students. Our school district does not tolerate any type of hate, racism or bias against students, staff, or members of our community. With all the tumult happening in our country right now, Chino Valley Unified School District can and should be a safe haven for all our students. So many teachers, students, administrators, and staff in our school district have worked tirelessly to foster and nurture an environment where students from all backgrounds, beliefs and walks of life are treated fairly and with respect. Even now, while our school district is on Distance Learning, our work does not end and our vigilance must be heightened, particularly with online harassment.
Our school district takes any acts of hate or harassment seriously. As such, our District administrators are currently conducting a thorough investigation into this matter and have alerted the proper authorities.
I ask any students who may experience or witness hate, aggression, or harassment at school to please contact your school principal. Your courage and our knowledge of these occurrences is an important step in our shared purpose of an inclusive and compassionate community.
Sincerely,
Norm
