Dear CVUSD Families and Staff,
As we gather with loved ones and friends this Thanksgiving season, I would like to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible work and dedication that our staff and families do to support the success and well-being of Chino Valley USD students.
This year has been a remarkable one, marked by significant accomplishments that highlight the power of collaboration and commitment to student success. Together, we have made strides in areas that truly matter and positively impact our students’ futures:
- Rising Student Achievement: Through the tireless efforts of leadership teams, staff, and families, the District has seen a measurable increase in student test scores across its schools. With an emphasis on the Essential Learning Standards, these gains reflect the innovation, perseverance, and unwavering belief in the potential of every student.
Recently, our Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction, Innovation, and Support (CIIS) reported to the Board of Education and the Chino Valley community that out of the Unified School Districts in San Bernardino County, Chino Valley USD ranked number one in meeting or exceeding the ELA and Math standards on the latest Smarter Balanced Assessments. This exciting accomplishment is the fruit of continuous effort and dedication invested by our leadership teams and phenomenal teaching staff.
-
Stronger Family Partnerships: With CVUSD’s initiatives to foster deeper family involvement, our schools have become vibrant hubs of collaboration. From parent workshops to family events, these efforts have strengthened the bond between home and school, creating a united front for student achievement.
- Prestigious Recognition: Chino Valley USD leadership, staff, and students continue to shine and earn recognition for the fantastic work taking place on school campuses! Through the District’s award-winning Professional Learning Communities (PLC) process, Chino Valley USD has committed itself to ensuring that all students master the essential standards and set a strong foundation for continuous learning. In fact, I’m proud to share that Chino Valley USD was recently featured in yet another publication highlighting its perseverance in developing a successfully implemented PLC strategy to ignite and nurture student achievement. I gladly welcome you to take a look and read our success story: https://bit.ly/414eAws
While our school and staff accomplishments are numerous, I would like to mention a few that rise to the top of the list. Out of 1,019 school districts, 345 unified school districts, and 9,997 schools in the state, Chino Valley USD ranked second of among all unified school districts in California for having the highest percentage of PBIS Platinum recognized schools, which, incidentally, also earned the district the top spot in the county! Approximately 573 CVUSD students are on track to earn the prestigious State Seal of Biliteracy Award, more than any other district in San Bernardino County. In 2024, we celebrated Educator of the Year awards, a Claes Nobel Educator of the Year Finalist, an SBC Unsung Hero, AP Honor Roll Schools, RIMS AVID Impact School, and a positive increase in attendance districtwide!
It goes without saying that none of these exceptional achievements would be possible without the collective dedication of CVUSD staff, administrators, families, and community partners. You have all contributed to making CVUSD a place where students not only excel academically but also grow as compassionate, engaged citizens, ready to make our communities a better place to live.
As we pause to reflect this Thanksgiving, I hope you take pride in the impact you have had on the lives of our students and their accomplishments. You are making a difference that will resonate for generations.
On behalf of myself and the district leadership team, I wish each and every one of you a joyful and restful Thanksgiving filled with warmth and gratitude. I am looking forward to finishing this year strong and welcoming an even more successful 2025!
With heartfelt appreciation,
Norm Enfield, Ed.D.
