    Dear CVUSD Parents and Guardians:

This past weekend, the California Department of Public Health updated the requirements for in-person instruction to reflect physical distancing guidance that allows all students to return to school every day. This development means that CVUSD schools will be able to accommodate all Blended Learning students everyday while still adhering to federal, state, and local health guidelines. The return dates are as follows:

    Elementary

Traditional Calendar Schools: Tuesday, April 6, 2021

    Multi-track Calendar School:

Cal Aero Preserve Academy Track A: Monday, April 5, 2021

Cal Aero Preserve Academy Track B: Monday, April 5, 2021

Cal Aero Preserve Academy Track C: Monday, May 3, 2021

Cal Aero Preserve Academy Track D: School site will provide separate communication to transition students for in-person learning

    Secondary

Traditional Calendar Schools: Monday, April 12, 2021

Please expect further communication from your school site regarding the weekly bell schedule.

Families who have chosen Distance Learning for the entire 2020-2021 school year will remain on a Distance Learning schedule. Students in Special Education small cohorts that returned to school in November 2020 (Junior High School) or January 2021 (High School) will continue with their schedule of attending classes every day.

As our schools prepare to welcome our students back to campus for daily instruction, the District and schools continue to be prepared with appropriate COVID-19 safety measures and Personal Protective Equipment as recommended by the California Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The District has a comprehensive COVID-19 Safety Plan Guidelines for Reopening Our Schools.

As we transition to daily in-person instruction for our students, I ask that all parents and guardians continue to assist in keeping our school communities safe by screening your children for illness every day prior to coming to school and ensuring that your children have face coverings as prescribed by the California Department of Health. With the health and safety of our students and staff as our priority, we must continue to proactively practice safety measures for ourselves, and each other.

I will continue to provide you with as much updated information as possible. This information will also be posted publicly on the District website and on the District social media pages. As always, thank you for your partnership and patience as we move towards transitioning our students back to campus safely and efficiently.

    Sincerely,

    Norm Enfield, Ed.D.
    Superintendent
