Dear CVUSD families,
I’m happy to share that a new section has been formatted on the District website that provides CVUSD students with invaluable resources regarding social, emotional, and mental health supports, and safety resources.
Debuting July 1, 2022, students will be able to access the “one-stop shop” and navigate to four specific areas: Harassment and Bullying; Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Support; Suicide Prevention; and, WeTip Reports.
Harassment and Bullying
The District recognizes the harmful effects of bullying on student learning and school attendance, and desires to provide a safe school environment that protects students from physical and emotional harm. Accessing the Harassment and Bullying webpage, students will now be able to submit a complaint form to report bullying or harassment. The submitted form is immediately routed to the appropriate staff to begin a thorough investigation and provide necessary support to parties involved.
Social, Emotional, and Mental Health
In support of the District's ongoing commitment to providing our students, staff, and families a safe and healthy learning environment, CVUSD has provided valuable resources to support students' social, emotional, and mental health. Students not only have the opportunity to connect with their school MTSS-B Program Counselor, but they can also explore various free programs available for their benefit.
Suicide Prevention
Each year, millions of people around the globe suffer from suicidal ideation. Students who are experiencing depression, social isolation, or need assistance coping with a suicidal crisis or emotional distress can reach out to trusted providers ready to assist them with their struggle. Students can access crisis hotlines that provide assistance 24/7/365, counseling services, case management resources, and upcoming suicide prevention events through the Suicide Prevention webpage.
Anonymous Reporting
Across our community and in our schools, we share everyday moments with our neighbors, family, coworkers, and friends. If a student knows or hears of anyone who has committed a crime or is engaged in suspicious or illegal activities, they are strongly encouraged to report it anonymously through WeTip. Anonymous reports can be made 24/7/365 either by calling the WeTip hotline or visiting the WeTip website. All reports submitted through this platform are routed directly to appropriate law enforcement officials and district personnel to investigate.
For ease of access, quick links will be added to the homepage of the CVUSD and all school websites. Students will also receive emails throughout the school year to remind them of the webpage and resources available for their use.
I’d like to thank the outstanding CVUSD staff who continuously work to provide our students with pivotal resources focused on their well-being and health. Their assistance with this project is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Norm Enfield, Ed.D.
