Welcome to Mr. Cabrera's Distance Learning Classroom

Assuming the state of California remains in the Red Tier, we will begin Blended Learning on March 23. I am excited to meet my students in person! Effective March 23, Virtual Office Hours will be discontinued. However, I remain committed to responding to all student e-mails in a timely manner.

    Blended Learning Schedule and Expectations

During Blended Learning students will attend school either two or three days per week on a two-week alternating schedule. For example:

    • Week One: Cohort A will attend school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Cohort B will attend school on Tuesday and Thursday.
    • Week Two: Cohort B will attend school on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Cohort A will attend school on Tuesday and Thursday.

The use of live instruction via Google Meet will be discontinued effective March 23. For in-class assignments, students will be given paper assignments that will be started in class and finished prior to the next class meeting. On non-classroom days, students will be assigned independent, asynchronous assignments. We will continue to use Google Classroom for short, specific task assignments on non-classroom days. On each non-classroom day, students will be expected to complete a specific task that will be due that day. This assignment will count towards student attendance. Please be sure to complete this task no later than 2pm on the day it is assigned.

    Virtual Office Hours

These are hours which I will be available, live, on Google Meet, for questions regarding assignments, schedules, and other schoolwork concerns until March 23. Find the link for my Virtual Office hours in our Google Classroom, Classwork page, under the "Communications" heading

    Class Access

We will be using Google Classroom to post and submit Electronic assignments until March 23. Each student will be joined to a Google Classroom automatically (or will receive an access code to enter the class that will be sent to your student email.) If you have any difficulties email me, ASAP.

Parents and Students, please check the Announcements page frequently for the most up to date information for all classes.
