We are excited to offer CHOIR at Townsend this year, 6th period! This class is open to everyone, and is non-auditioned. You just need to bring your enthusiasm for learning, and love of music -- we will teach you how to sing in a healthy way, and how to read music, no solos or experience necessary.

Teacher bio
Mrs. Laura Rutherford has been teaching choral music at Chino Hills High School for the past 18 years, and is excited to bring her passion for music and experience to our Rangers at TJHS.
Mrs. R's love of music has lead her to the classroom, after years of study as a classical pianist and accompanist, member of choral ensembles in the community and church, and singer, dancer, and actress in many community theater productions. She instructs choirs at beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels at Chino Hills High School, is the vocal music director for many musical theater shows at the high school, and is an advisor to the Christians on Campus and Kindness Clubs.
Mrs. R is a Harry Potter fan, loves dark chocolate, hiking and camping, and listens to all types of music (depending on my mood).
