Regular classroom assignments will be posted on Google Classroom on a daily basis. Any student who is absent on the day of the live lesson can find a video recording of those notes on the Google Classroom "Classwork Page."Each time we begin a new chapter, the assignment list for that chapter will be posted on Google Classroom. You can find the assignment list on the first day's classwork for that particular chapter.*Students, for clarification on how to access your school email accounts, please follow the link: Accessing Student e-mail***Parents and Guardians, if you are interested in being invited to your student's Google Classroom so that you can receive all posting for the class, just send me an email with the email address you'd like me to send the invite to, along with your student's name and period.*** joe_raya@chino.k12.ca.usDistance Learning for the 2020-2021 School Year will follow the schedule below.Homework
Although classes will meet every other day, homework will be assigned every day of the week with the exception of major assessment days. We have a district pacing guide and standards that must be met thoughtout the school year. The only way to accomplish this is by either giving the students two days worth of notes and homework assignments on those days we meet, or splitting them up. As I believe it will be difficult for the student to focus and take notes on two days worth of assignments at a time (60-80 minutes of potential note taking), I have decided to give one lesson of notes and one homework assignment per day. On any given day, the student will receive either a live lesson or a recording of a lesson for that day's assignment. Outlines of the class notes are being created and will be provided for the student to download and print out to facilitate note taking in a more efficient manner. The video recordings will cover the exact same topics as live lessons. The student will be able to find the recordings on the assignment calendars and in google classroom coinsiding with the new assignments. I will work to keep both sites up to date. All homework may be submitted by the student either scanning or taking a picture of the completed assignment and submitting the work to Google Classroom so that it may be entered into the gradebook.AttendanceAttendance will be taken daily in one of two ways. If the class session meets in person that day, attendance will be taken using Google Meets. If the class does not meet on a particular day, attendance will be taken by the student logging into Google Classroom and answering an attendance question based on the assignment for that day. There is no right or wrong answer, the question is meant to get a response from the student so that the teacher can verify the student participated on that day.Office HoursTo help with any issues students have on the previous night's assignment I will be hosting office hours according to the schedule below. You may reach me during office hours via email or google classroom. If needed, I will be utilizing google meets to conduct tutoring during scheduled office hours. If a tutorial session is requested, the link will be shared on the stream in Google Classroom accounts for security reasons.- Office hours for all classes
- Monday 8:20 - 8:55 AM
- Tuesday and Thursday 1:35 - 2:20 PM.
- Wednesday and Friday 7:30 - 8:15 AM.
We are going to use the website Kuta-Works to help with assignments and quizzes.
I have created 5 classes for the site. You will first need to go here:
https://student.works.kutasoftware.com/signin
There, you will be prompted to sign up for a class. Each class will have an individual code associated with it. You need to code to sign up for the class. Once you have chosen a password (make sure you read the requirements for the password), I will need to accept you in the class. Here are the codes each class will need. Please note, this site will not work with your school email addresses as mail for outside entities is blocked. Please use your personal email address to sign up for this site.
