¡Bienvenidos! Welcome all!

  • ¡Bienvenidos!

Welcome to Mr. García's Distance Learning Classroom, please use Sr. García's Google Classroom to attend and submit weekly assignments:

I am looking forward to another successful year here teaching Spanish at Chino Hills High, and I am very excited and looking forward getting to know all.  It will be a very exciting year for you since you will be learning (or continuing to learn) the third-most spoken language on Earth.  This year, I will be teaching Spanish 1 and 2 and I teach primary in Spanish using constant repetition that includes: daily routines, vocabulary introductions with hand gestures, stories, partner sharing, songs, book work exercises, pictures with presentations, and games.  Our textbook aligns with weekly short stories that we read in class and will follow the following scheme:

    • Monday/Tuesday: Story and vocabulary introduction
    • Wednesday: Reading comprehension and literacy
    • Thursday/Friday: Writing dictation and weekly quiz/assessment

Things to remember to bring when you come to class everyday:

    • completed homework
    • pencil/pen
    • red pen
    • highlighter
    • composition notebook (pages bound together)

Extra help?  Students can schedule an appointment to tutor with Sr. García after school for a session of 15-20 minutes.  Tutoring at least once a week can tremendously improve a student's understanding along with studying daily at home.

Contact me! Feel free to call me here at school at (909) 606-7540 x5104 or email me at abraham_garcia@chino.k12.ca.us and I will try to respond within 24 hours, if not much earlier.
