• Mr Mc   Mr McIntosh

School has started again.  Students should be logging on to classes through Google classroom. Using Google classroom to do the online work requires the using the email assigned to them from the district.  Many students are using their phones, but I also believe you may need to do so from a computer.  Phones seem to have difficulty accessing some of the material for some students.

  • Assignments will be posted on Google Classroom.  The due date for the assignment will be included in the assignment documents. Students will do all assignments through Google Classroom. Students are to complete the assigned work (notes, worksheets, book homework) and attach pictures of the completed work to the assignment document in Google Classroom. Students using google classroom to do the online work must use the email assigned to them from the district. It seems google classroom ocasionally has problems with pdf files.  As a result I am including both pdf and Word versions of the worksheets for the assingments.    I also believe you may need to do so from a computer.  Phones seem to have difficulty accessing some of the material for some students.

There will be no formal assessments.  To ensure learning, work showing little effort, or is predominately incorrect will not earn full credit.  Students will have the opportunity to make corrections and resubmit work up to one week after the due date to earn full credit.

  • Calculator

Since online teaching has begun use of calculators cannot be mandated.  Students had opportunity to check out calculators from the library all year.  Those that chose not to obtain a calculator can still do all the work but it will require considerable calculations.

Students in Integrated Math 1, Trig/PreCalc-Honors, Probability/Statistics and AP Statistics should have a TI-84 calculator. They will be on sale at Target, Staples, WalMart, etc just before school begins, but will not be on sale long after school starts.  Get one as soon as possible.  Should you be unable to purchase your own calculator there are some calculators available at the library to check out.  These may go quickly so you should get one as early as possible.

  • For AP Stats the only summer work is to obtain a TI-84+ or TI-84CE calculator.  The NSpire and other manufacturers will work but I model the TI-84 and I am unfamiliar with the others.  Thus I will be of limited help with those calculators.  Enjoy your summer, relax and recharge.  Then come back prepared to work.

  • Khan Academy

In Integrated Math 1 I will point students to sections in Khan Academy that relate to the current material.  I will create assignments and Khan Academy work will be graded as homework.  Students can use Khan Academy videos, lessons, practice problems, and practice quizzes to supplement the classroom lessons.
