Hi Everyone!

I am Mrs. Cooney. I am the current ASL teacher here at Ayala High School. I am a Los Angeles native and grew up in a multicultural household. I completed my Bachelor's degree at California State University Northridge with a major in Deaf Studies and an emphasis in ASL/English Interpreting. I completed my Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with her coursework in Sociology, Communication Studies, and Deaf Studies. My degree has a focus on intercultural communication between deaf and hearing communities. I completed a second Master's degree in Education with an emphasis in education and technology along with a Single Subject Credential in World Language Teaching.  This is my eleventh year of teaching and have worked in state, private, and public educational setting. I look forward to meeting all of you!
