Welcome to Art Fundamentals.  There is lot to experience this year in class.  More importantly my desire is that you all discover and nurture the absolute creative potential you all have within you.  Besides addressing and understanding the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design, you will develop the ability to create, analyze, and critique original artworks of others including your own.

    Materials Needed:

You will need an 8 1/2" x11" or 9" x 12" sketchbook for this class with a minimum of 75pages. It should either be spiral bound or hard bound. Do notpurchase a sketchbook that is a peel away type with glue binding it at the top. These will fall apart since all sketchbooks stay within the classroom and are stored together. Also this is not required but can be very useful. You should buy a set of drawing pencils. These sets range anywhere from 4 to 12 pencils that already provide you a various range of shades from dark to light. You will find them labeled with numbers like 2H, H, HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, etc.
