Overview of Summer Work 2024-2025

  • The summer work is designed to keep your skills honed and prepare you so that AP curriculum can begin the first day of class. The assigned text will prepare you for some of the major concepts that guide this AP course in language and composition. Consequently, to get the most out of the text, you should read it throughout the summer, not attempt to skim or cram at the very last minute. Taking notes or using the guided questions provided will help you to retain the information. Reviewing the information just before school begins is advised. Downloading the instructions, reading them carefully and thoroughly, and referring back to them throughout the summer will ensure that you are meeting all requirements.

Please keep in mind that we don't expect you to be experts on day one, but we do expect that serious effort is made to show us your best work. This helps your teacher know where you are as we begin the year and what we need to teach you, and demonstrates that you have the work ethic necessary to succeed in AP.

If you have questions AFTER reading all directions posted here, please contact both of the 11AP English Language and Composition teachers in one email:
