• MTSS-B Tier 2 Interventions

    • Ayala High School offers four formalized, evidence-based Tier 2 Interventions for students who may require more support to demonstrate the Schoolwide Expectations of Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Safe. By participating in these interventions, it is the hope students will acquire the knowledge, attitudes, and skills in the CASEL Competencies: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Responsible Decision-Making, Relationship Skills, and Social Awareness, so they can appropriately follow the Scoolwide Expectations and be academically successful.

The four formalized MTSS-B Tier 2 Interventions are:

      • Behavior Self-Monitoring

      • Check In/Check Out (CICO)

      • Small Groups Counseling

      • TUPE Brief Intervention is an evidence-based counseling intervention for adolescents who use alcohol, tobacco, or other substances. Developed by Dr. Ken Winters, Brief Intervention uses motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and the stages of change model to meet the needs of students. The purpose is to encourage smoking and substance use cessation.

Please see the document below for a description of each additional intervention.
